José Luiz Moreira, artistically known as Mr. Embro, was born in Abrantes and lives and works in Lisbon. Married and father of four, he discovered in embroidery, in 2019, a gesture of pause and transformation, which quickly became the center of his artistic practice.
Self-taught, he built his career through experimentation, embracing imperfection as an essential part of the language of his work. In 2019, he began an investigation into the sacred masculine, a central theme of his work, which culminated in an invitation to exhibit at the Frank Lloyd Wright Pavilion, at the Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House, in Washington D.C., in March 2020.
Mr. Embro's embroideries are unique works, sold internationally, including the United States, Australia, Japan, Canada, and several European countries. He also works on commission, especially for collectors, guaranteeing personalized and exclusive pieces. In addition to artistic creation, he teaches workshops for different levels of knowledge, sharing his experience and technique with new and experienced embroidery practitioners.

Autodidata, construiu a sua carreira através da experimentação, abraçando a imperfeição como parte essencial da linguagem do seu trabalho. Em 2019, iniciou uma investigação sobre o sagrado masculino, tema central da sua obra, que culminou num convite para expor no Pavilhão Frank Lloyd Wright, na Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House, em Washington D.C., em março de 2020.
Os bordados de Mr. Embro são peças únicas, vendidas internacionalmente, incluindo nos Estados Unidos, Austrália, Japão, Canadá e vários países europeus. Trabalha também por encomenda, especialmente para colecionadores, garantindo peças personalizadas e exclusivas. Para além da criação artística, ministra workshops para diferentes níveis de conhecimento, partilhando a sua experiência e técnica com bordadores iniciantes e experientes.
